We are a post of wartime veterans in Granite Ridge. We help veterans file claims, we render honors for those we lose, we fund scholarships for local students, and we keep the lights on in a hall this town has used for three generations.
What we do
Claims assistance
Our Service Officer holds walk-in hours every Wednesday. Bring your DD-214 and whatever correspondence you have; there is no charge and you do not have to be a member.
Military funeral honors
The Honor Guard turns out for any eligible veteran in the county, member or not, at no cost to the family.
Youth scholarships
Two essay competitions and a direct scholarship each year, funded by the relief fund and the annual banquet.
Relief fund
A direct, confidential fund for members and their families in hardship. Requests go to the Quartermaster and stay there.
The canteen is open to members and their accompanied guests.
Come to a meeting
The general membership meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 1900. Coffee is on from 1830. Any member in good standing may attend, speak and vote, and visitors from other posts are always welcome.
